Ms. Asma Butt, a well-known writer, director and chairperson of Dolphin Communication, said that Heer Waris Shah’s were popular in all eras.Despite the passage of centuries, even today this unique story of love is heard and read with great interest in Punjab.Heer turned out to be a great and unique creation of the Sufi poet Waris Shah, which was repeated in every era by the efforts of different writers and directors.This folk story has a special place to remind us how we have forgotten our culture and traditions.Such dramas are very important to make our young generation aware of our culture.

She said this yesterday while talking to journalists at the end of the stage play of the well-known historical romantic folk story “Heer Waris Shah” at the Rawalpindi Arts Council.On this occasion, Secretary Islamabad National Press Club Nayir Ali, Senior Journalist Tariq Mehnas, Tariq Mughal Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President Youth Wing Pakistan Muslim League-N Naeem Pasha, Member of Cantonment Board Mrs. Mumtaz Malik, Poet Hasan Abbas Raza, and A large number of literary personalities, artists, journalists and citizens of twin cities participated.Asma Butt said that in order to keep our culture and traditions alive, I made dramas on famous historical characters Dulla Bhatti, Shah Hussain Madhu lal, which became very popular in other countries including Pakistan.Heer Waris Shah is a link in the struggle of Sufism.Heer Waris Shah is not only a romantic story, but it conveys the message of oneness of Allah, faith and trust in each other.Our folk heritage is the hallmark of our culture.Asma Butt said that this drama was written by Arshad Chahal, while I (Asma Butt) performed the directorial duties.Nirmal Ali played the role of Heer, Kaleem Khan of Ranjha, Mehboob Ilyas played the role of Qedu, Naeem Khan played the role of Heer’s father, Sapna Shah played the role of mother, Kashif played the role of Badshah,While Saima Rehman, Jhalak Ali, Imran Rushdi, Shehzadi and other actors played their respective roles.On this occasion, the literary, urban circles, artists, journalists who participated in the drama highly appreciated the efforts of Asma Butt.They said that after a long time an excellent drama was presented in the twin cities,In which a large number of citizens participated and proved that if there is a director like Asma Butt who presents a quality stage drama, people will happily come to watch the drama with their families.Asma Butt praised the artists for their excellent performance and thanked the guests.
