The Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb says that the date of dissolution of the National Assembly has not been decided yet. Denying the reports regarding the dissolution of the National Assembly, the Minister of Information said in response to the decision to dissolve the National Assembly on August 8, four days before the expiry of its term on August 12, that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) The date of dissolution of the National Assembly will be decided in consultation with DM) and allied parties. He said that the decision of the date of dissolution of the National Assembly will be formally announced. It should be noted that the term of the current assembly will be completed on August 12. Earlier, there were conflicting reports in the media regarding the general elections of the leaders of the coalition government, Federal Minister for Commerce Naveed Qamar, belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), had recently said that the National Assembly should be dissolved by August 8. so that the Election Commission will get adequate time for the elections in November.
On the other hand, another member of the cabinet belonging to the PPP claimed that no decision was taken regarding the date for the dissolution of the National Assembly and Naveed Qamar’s statement was his personal opinion and suggestion.
A key member of the cabinet belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League (N) had said that the date for dissolving the National Assembly would be decided soon after consultation with the allies. The federal minister had said that this will be a joint decision of the Pakistan Democratic Movement and government allies. It should be noted that according to the law, general elections should be held within 60 days if the elected government completes its term and if the assembly is dissolved prematurely, then elections should be held within 90 days of the dissolution of the assembly. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said two days ago that he will hand over power to the caretaker government before the completion of the term of the assembly next month. Addressing a laptop distribution ceremony at Government College Women University in Sialkot, he said that the government will complete its term next month but we will leave the government before the completion of the term and a caretaker government will come.

It should be remembered that while addressing the laptop distribution ceremony at Sialkot Women’s University, Shahbaz Sharif gave a signal to dissolve the assembly before the term and said that the caretaker government will come for 90 days. Legal experts say that coming to Pakistan Election Commission will announce the date of general elections.Earlier, the President of Pakistan used to announce the date of the election and the Election Commission used to announce the election schedule according to that date. In case of an extraordinary situation, it is understandable, the constitution has clearly stated that elections should be held within 60 or 90 days. But the framers of the constitution have left a scope. Under Article 254, if no work is done according to the constitution and later, it will not be illegal. So what will happen in such a case? If the election is not held in 90 days and instead for some reason the elections are held in 120 days, then this election will not be illegal, the election commission members should be appointed within one month but If it happened after one year, then what has happened is not declared illegal. There is a lot of confusion about the conduct of the upcoming general elections in Pakistan. The term of the current National Assembly formed as a result of the 2018 general elections began on August 13, 2018 and will be dissolved on August 12, 2023 at 12 midnight after completing its five-year term. In addition to the National Assembly, the legal term of two of the four provincial assemblies is also ending in August 2023, after which, according to the constitution, it is necessary to elect members for these assemblies in the country within two months, i.e. by October 2023. In this case it is certainly possible that the assemblies may be dissolved before the expiry of the term. The assemblies of the two provinces of Pakistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were dissolved a long time ago, but the elections could not be held in these two provinces and the supervisory setup is in place. What does it guide? If the assemblies are serving their constitutional term, elections should be held within 60 days after that date, and if the assembly is dissolved prematurely, then within 90 days. .
For example, if the term of the assembly is ending on July 1 and it is dissolved on June 29, then elections must be held within 90 days.
The Election Commission knows about the date of dissolution of the assemblies in advance and they have prepared for it, but if the decision comes out at once that the assemblies are being dissolved, in such a situation, the Election Commission of Elections is not ready so they need more time. It was also discussed in the old election committees that 60 days and 90 days may not be enough to prepare for the elections.
A suggestion was also made that a period of 120 days should be kept but it could not be agreed upon. Perhaps it should be reconsidered how much time is needed to conduct elections because as big as our country is, there is not one election here, there are 800 or 850 elections in national and provincial constituencies combined, for which about one million There is a need for close staff. There is also a fear that if the Election Commission fails to conduct the election in 60 or 90 days, then what will happen in such a case?
The statements given by the leaders of the Muslim League-N have started a political upheaval in the country and thus, after several months of uncertainty, there is finally talk of holding general elections in the country. Federal Interior Minister And the senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Rana Sanaullah, has said that Muslim League will not unite with any political party in Punjab in the upcoming elections, but will field its candidates in each constituency for national and provincial seats in the election.

It should be noted that the Election Commission of Pakistan is an independent body responsible for conducting free and fair elections in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Chief Election Commissioner is the head of this body and is responsible for conducting free and impartial elections in the country and also for vetting every candidate.
It is the duty of the Election Commission under the Constitution to administer and conduct general elections and to make such arrangements as may be necessary to ensure that the elections are conducted honestly, fairly and in accordance with the law and that Titles can be fixed.
The Election Commission is ready to conduct the general elections in October. is given
October 8 is the date of the start of martial law in our history, October 12 was also the date of the implementation of martial law. October 8 is the date of the start of martial law in our history, October 12 was also the date of the implementation of martial law. October 5 was the day of the worst earthquake in the country’s history. 16th October is the day of martyrdom of Liaquat Ali Khan, 10th October is a dark day in the history of Pakistan. The attackers entered and martyred 144 children
Fall of Dhaka Tragedy East Pakistan seceded on December 16, 1971, due to which Pakistan lost a large state in terms of population and area and many other events took place in October.
The term of the National Assembly will be completed on August 12 and then the elections will be held, it can be in 60 days but the interim government takes power only for 90 days and it has to transfer power in 90 days.
It is a strange coincidence that there will be major changes in the country from August to October, for example, President Arif Alvi’s tenure will end on September 9. According to Article 44 of our Constitution, the President shall hold office for a period of 5 years from the date on which he assumes office, but the condition is that the President, despite the expiry of his term, shall remain in office until his successor assumes office. He will hold this position. According to Article 41 (3) of the Constitution, the President will be elected by an electoral body consisting of members of the National Assembly, Senate and Provincial Assemblies. An election for the office of President under sub-section 4 shall be held not more than 60 days and not less than 30 days before the expiry of the term of office of the incumbent President, provided that if the election is held within the said period If it cannot be done because the National Assembly has been dissolved, then it should be done within 30 days of the general election of the Assembly. The tenure of Dr. Arif Alvi’s presidency is ending on September 9, 2023. By the way, the constitution gives the authority to make the chairman of the senate also the acting president, but Arif Alvi can remain the president until the swearing in of the new president. This case will also be constitutional and interesting.Muslim League-N feels that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will not be present in the field with full strength, as Rana Sanaullah has also said that Imran Khan can be arrested at any time, if this happens, then the Muslim League-N So the electoral field can be wide. For this reason, PML-N considered it appropriate to make such announcements, which of course is premature. The influential members of PTI have formed their new party. PTI is currently facing organizational problems and the party needs reorganization. In such a case, if Imran Khan goes to jail, the bond of communication between the voters and the party may be weakened, and in such a case, the Muslim League-N will benefit. A narrative has also been created against PTI which has influenced public opinion and now there is a feeling of fear rather than sympathy. There has been continuous action against PTI for months. And she is under pressure at the moment, which creates fear and uncertainty in the voter and she gets upset and leaves the process like the PPP voter did in 1997. Uncertainty in the country. The elimination has boosted the confidence of PML-N and now as the military and political leadership has shown dreams of working in the agriculture sector and a green Pakistan, they are confident that they will be able to give some hope to their voters. There will be a tough fight in Punjab and the PML-N is trying to take advantage of the pressure on PTI. The coordination and messaging that takes place will certainly benefit Imran Khan’s rivals, especially the Muslim League. The PML-N has always had a constituency in Punjab which was reduced by the PTI, but now it is about to take it back. It will try, there is a lot of time in the elections and it is possible that there will be a change in the strategy of the political parties, but the PML-N has decided that this was the best for them. The vote is dividing into supporters and opponents of Nawaz. PTI had the vote against PML-N. Now whether PTI has that vote or not, it will be decided in the next elections, but there was and is no such political leader against Muslim League in Punjab except Imran Khan who could challenge them. There are two major problems. His electorate is already angry with him because of an inflation and he will have to work hard to get him to vote on election day. Second, in the past by-elections, whenever PML-N gave a ticket to another party’s candidate, they had to go through a bitter experience because the party’s voters and local leadership did not accept the party’s decision. It cannot afford to make seat adjustments in an electoral alliance with another party and suffer losses later. As a result of the IMF agreement, the people did not get any great relief and the main example of this is the increase in electricity prices immediately after the agreement. I think the PML-N will not get any benefit from the IMF agreement. At this time, the attitude of the establishment towards PTI is in front of everyone and it is difficult to say anything about the message it has given to the Muslim League. All eyes are on the upcoming general elections, the results of 2018 general elections. The term of the current National Assembly formed in 2018 started from 13th August 2018 and after completing the fixed term of five years it will be dissolved on 12th August 2023 at 12 midnight. Besides the National Assembly of Pakistan, two out of four provincial The legal term of the assemblies is also ending in August 2023, after which, according to the constitution, it is necessary to elect members for these assemblies in the country within two months, i.e. by October 2023. Extension of this period is certainly possible if the assemblies are dissolved before the expiry of the period.
