The Center for Chinese Legal studies (CCLS) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore invites Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram

On 17th October 2024, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), visited the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Lahore.

During his visit, Mr. Khalid also took the opportunity to visit the Center for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS) in the Law School. This innovative initiative focuses on advancing research, promoting awareness, and educating on Chinese Legal Studies in Pakistan which was established in October 2019.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram had the opportunity to meet with key figures, including Dr. Parvez Hassan, the founder of the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law and a member of the board of trustees at LUMS, as well as Dr. Sikander Ahmed Shah, the Director of the Center for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS). Their discussions primarily revolved around the role and impact of CCLS in advancing research, promotion, and education in the field of Chinese Legal Studies within Pakistan.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram conveyed strong admiration for the initiatives undertaken at the center and recognized Dr. Parvez Hassan as an iconic figure in Pakistan, particularly commending his efforts to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between China and Pakistan. Furthermore, it was also agreed that Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram will work on strengthening Pakistan-China relations and research collaboration with Central Asia and China through the Center for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS).

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram presented his book titled “Building a Community with Shared Future: A Hope for Mankind” to Center for Chinese Legal studies (CCLS) and also to the main library of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore.
